Another layout share!

Hey hey hey!

Thanks for checking in :) First up, I have to say - PLEASE forgive the quality of my photos for this post! I seem to have caught some sort of moonbugs/flu/virus and standing on a chair to take photos made my head spin. Feeling very ordinary this week but I still managed some time to scrap a little, just to finish off these layouts for this weeks post.

I have 2 different layouts to share this week, trying to play in my stash a little more (sometimes I think we can all get lost in what is current and forget what fun stuff is tucked away).

This layout was created using a standard Design A Project Life sleeve. I really enjoyed playing with some of the older stuff in my kit and surprised myself with how many items I actually used. I have included the links for as many as I can below! The cards I used in this layout are from a cut apart in one of the Heidi Swapp 12x12 paper pads.

 

Next up, just a little something I threw together because I was really happy to be playing in the Heidi goodness!

 

 

This layout was created in a Design P sleeve that I actually cut down. I will explain more on this in the coming posts, but basically cutting a sleeve down can make or break a layout some times. In this case, I had other photos, but using them would not have added any more interest to the layout :)

 

I learnt something about myself scrapping this week - I am a far more adventurous Project MY LIFEr than I am a scrapbooker! When I started out scrapping, the thought of tearing pretty paper made me break out in a cold sweat, and now there is rarely a layout where I haven't cut up (butchered/destroyed) a journal card! As Rikki would say, that's 'personal growth' lol

Project MY LIFE

Hey hey hey!

Ree here again, sharing another Project Life MY WAY! I touched last week on how Project Life will only be stress free and feel good when you are making it work for you. I think a lot of the reason that people get stressed out by scrapping, or perhaps disillusioned with the idea of scrapping, is because they get caught up in the woulds/should of scrapping. And that might work for some people, following rules, but I know for me, I need to make the experience a pleasant one.

In saying that, sometimes there are weeks where we don't get the opportunity to take 'enough' photos for a traditional 12x12 PL spread, and other times we might take a hundred great photos at an event. This is how I make that work for me :)

I love this little layout, that sums up my week perfectly! We didn't have a lot on this week and I will admit, I was lacking in my photo taking inspiration. I had a lot going on in the background and I was just going through the motions. So this is what I had to work with, and I made it work! This magic little flippy card here is just good old washi tape! I know there are some amazing techniques and tools out there now to create these flips and hidden journaling spaces, but I don't have any and honestly, good old fashioned washi works for me! Scrapping Clearly Design Team

Hey there!

I am so excited to be joining the crazy talented ladies here at Scrapping Clearly! This is my first design team gig so be gentle with me, okay? I have been scrapping for a few years now but didn't find my groove until I started Project Life, so that's what I will mainly be sharing!



 

This layout is created using the Heidi Swapp Project Life gold foil sleeves - and these sleeves surprised me! I thought that the gold foil was printed on the outside of the sleeve, but it is actually transparency/acetate that you remove from the pockets. This makes the pocket sleeves really versatile as you can shuffle the gold print around to wherever it suits you!

 

I received my first kit and was so excited to see some new goodies, I got straight to work! This was kinda different for me - some life changes meant that I wasn't feeling the love with taking photos and getting photos of my kids was hard work, so they don't even feature in the layout, but that's the beauty of the Project Life craze - this is how life looks right now!

 

 

This was probably my favourite card from the kit and I love the way it looks like the tiny word stickers. The bunny paperclip was given to me by a girlfriend, who bought them at Typo.

 

These alpha stickers are just gorgeous! I love the scrabble tile detail, but honestly I would love them with or without the detail! Think I need to get a few more packs of these for the stash!

 



This card is a combination of a couple of different cards, and the flowers are fussy cut  and added, with some foam tape for extra dimension. The Heidi Swapp tags are just amazing and I have multiple of those kits, just so I don't run out!

Layering fun!

Hey there!

I snapped this beautiful shot of my daughter while we were out fishing ages ago, and hadn't had a chance to scrap it yet, but when I found this poem I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I used Photoshop to overlay the text on the photo and fit it around her face, and then printed as usual.

Layering up some tags and some stamps in the background and I was pretty happy with the result.

Another 12x12

Hey there!

I loved this fabric, and knew I wanted to feature it in a layout somehow, and teaming it up with some pretty decorative stitches on my sewing machine and it was good to go!

I love when a layout comes together with minimal work!

Tea2 pretties!

Hey there!

Have you ever had one of those days where everything just turns to crap? You know, where you get out of bed and one thing after another goes wrong? Yeh, it was one of those days.

I had taken the kidlets into the city for a walking adventure and then we got off the train and the rain started, and then we got lost. Then the kids couldn't agree on what they wanted for lunch. Then we got lost...

Then I hit the jackpot!

By the time we walked by the T2 store in the city, the scent was beckoning me in from the rain - and when I walked in and saw hot tea brewing for tastings, I could have cried. These stores are like little museums with all the pretty tea sets and it smells amazing.

This layout was created using Heidi Swapp paper, and some dylusions ink. I am not 100% confident in this technique, but I keep trying because I love the look it creates! Pop on some thickers for a title and some cutesy tea themed chipboard, and I was really happy with the results!

See, nothing a nice hot cup of tea cant fix!

Scrapping older photos!

Thanks for stopping by! Just thought I would share a great simple layout using an old collection that I absolutely fell in love with - Sunkissed by Bo Bunny.

When I first started scrapping, this was one of the first ranges that I absolutely HAD to have (you know what I am talking about, don't shake your head!).

There aren't too many photos of me and the kids, and this one had been sitting there in the photo box forever. It was taking on a strange day for me and was a photo that when I looked at it, I was torn. A photo of my babies that I adore, and a rare photo of me with them... but the emotional side of the day played on me and I never got around to scrapping it. Until now!

I knew this paper would look beautiful with this photo and I am so happy with the way this layout turned out. I chose not to journal at all, just so that when I look at it, I can appreciate it for what it is. A picture of a mama and her babies, just being real. And real isn't always perfect :)
